My install went relatively smoothly. I must admit that I'm impressed with the sound. The reverbs and delays are very smooth.
I have a question though. I thought that AT3 was supposed to have the ATJH and Metal modules included. I actually own them anyway, but its good to have everything under one hood.
Anyway, even though all my X-Gear presets have ported over and open up with the appropriate ATJH and Metal gear installed, I can't seem to manually insert ATJH or Metal components in the Stomp or Rack sections. Am I missing something? Is there another step to porting this gear over so that it's available?
Thanks

All the metal and JH components are supposed to be in AT3 by default as rebuilt modules. No porting needed as they are included pieces of AT3. So they should all be there, but sound even better. I don't know if they are named the same or not since I don't have metal or JH.BERFAB wrote:My install went relatively smoothly. I must admit that I'm impressed with the sound. I might be confused but I'd imagine that AT3 wants to use the integrated versions as opposed to using METAL/JHE versions inside the new interface. Is this what you are asking, or am I way off.....

OK, when you guys say "integrated" do you mean that there are new versions of the the JH and Metal plugs, or are there just some generic plugs that also do those sounds?
When I open X-gear and look for a stomp, for example, I get a drop down menu that lists Ampeg, JH and Metal as separate catagories, each of which, in turn, have all their components listed. In AT3, I only get TWO catagories on the drop down menu: AT3 and Ampeg. Is this right? Seems to me, there should be a listing that includes JH and Metal also, no?

Which makes sense, I guess.Peter - IK Multimedia wrote:Yes, those amps are now all included in the AmpliTube 3 hierarchy.
I'm not thinking in terms of packages, I need an OD or a flanger.
It definitely takes some getting used to, but to me it feels more intuitive now.
Would like to see SVX and ATF integrated, too ...

Spent some more time playing tonite. This definitely feels more real. I have a Hamer standard and a Hamer prototype. Two very different guitars and in A3 they sound very much like the different guitars they are. The clean tones on the proto are heavenly and the Standard just growls with the crunch and distortion settings. The ambassador (or whatever it is called) pedal is awesome.

you guys are all joking right? Realistic? Tell me, which Marshall model has a VU meter? But it's worse all the amps have VU meters. They were mighty presumptuous thinking I have a wooden floors that my stomp boxes are on, it's really old carpet. Worse some of the stomp boxes are all scratched up, I didn't spend all this money for used pedals.
But if that isn't enough look at the racks, cables on the front of every model and on the right and left? Aren't some racks mono in stereo out? How many real rack units have jacks on the front, sure it makes more sense but rather useless on a sim. Then the cables partially cover the words in and out making it hard to tell which is which. The gate OMG dont get me started on the gate, it cuts in and out on some settings like it's opening and closing or something.
The mics are just absurd, sure the picture changes on the main window but in the lower window where you see the cab with two mics the mics dont change appearance yet the cabs do....what's up with that?
The tuner at least makes sense but I can't believe they spelled it "cents"...what they can't spell either? Then the presets, first it took like forever for the preset browser to load all the presets and then who the hell wants to go through all those presets? What do they think? We like have nothing better to do than to try a zillion presets.
I guess they think just because it's very natural feeling and sounds awesome, plus it's very comfortable as well that they can just ignore the major things I mention. Yeah, yeah, yeah, it really does sound great and so far I've liked everything I've tried I'll still never know for sure about every model because they gave me way too many ballsy sounding combinations to ever get through all my options.
This really is a joke

and where's the unnatural fizzy sound of some sims?

LOL @ Hink! Made me smile, thank you. You've liked everything you've tried? That makes me smile too. Now you have all those presets, but are you also exploring the per-model presets? I hope so or we might be in for another rant!!!!

Two quick presets for your enjoyment, forget about good taste for a moment and have fun.
Blue Vox + virtual pedalboard + virtual rack
All FX pretweaked, some bypassed, some not, so go apeshit with it.
Obviously some combinations will sound even more tasteless than others.
Guitar was a Tokai 335 with Pearly Gates PUs, but it should translate well to different guitars.
One thing worth noting is that these presets are chameleons in a good way, tweak a single parameter and the result might surprise or shock you ...
