As any competent musician knows, music is composed in bars. This practice started some decades ago. Early examples include Dean Martin's Little Old Wine Drinker, Me, Frank Sinatra's One More For the Road, and Sammy Davis Junior's There Was a Tavern in the Town.

There are exceptions, of course. Sammy Davis Junior's French Fried Potatoes and Ketchup was written in the cafe next door.

The original Beatles Abbey Road cover was with all Beatles members crawling over the street. Unfortunately Paul McCartney was killed by a car during that session so they got a replacement Paul and walked over instead for the final cover to avoid more accidents. That's what started the Paul is dead rumors.
