Have some questions concerning FL. I am a registered owner but usually get better feedback here (sometimes)... So...

1 - Can FL record multiple midi channels at once (for editing)? I want to record sequences I have on my FantomX in one take into FL. So obviously it would be from one midi input and I have close to 60 songs I would like to get into FL by taking the most streamlined way.

2 - Is there any way to work with 2 audio cards simultaneously? i do everything in 16bit and 44.1k so there would be no problem there.

3 - Sometimes I get a message basically saying "FL cannot perform the task because of insufficient memory, try closing an application, blah blah...". Why would this show up and how can I fix it. I usually only have FL open and I have a 3.0Ghz P4 with 2G Ram on XP. Is there an option about memory handling somewhere in the windows mainframe where I can help fix this and prevent it from happening?

Thats all for now (really, all I can remember). I appreciate all responses. Thanks.

Oh, and...

4 - Is there any way to transpose a numberous number of midi outs and vsts loaded into my step sequencer. I dont want to use the pitch function. I just want to select a number of tracks and transpose down or up as many steps as I need. Would be better than what im doing now (going into each separate piano roll and dragging the whole sequence as needed... its tedious and time consuming)

ANYBODY???????????

First off, I've only tried a demo of FL once or twice. But I think I can help with a bit of common sense...

1) Why do it by recording, if you can import midi files? (or can't you??)

2) There might be a problem with two sound cards if one runs at 44.099 and the other at 44.101: a mismatch of two samples each second. It may be more... Also the latency might be different, causing the sound of one to be as much as 50ms late. But have a try anyway, wouldn't hurt I'd say. You can try running an extra program called Asio4All, and put it in "Einstein" mode.

3) 2Gigs is about the maximum Windows XP can handle. Firstly you should not have any memory-demanding program opened at the same time as running FruityLoops. If you press Ctrl-Alt-Del and choose TaskManager, you can see of each process how much memory it uses. Some VSTi's are hungry for memory, tyically ones that use samples & soundfonts. Try to run them in "direct from disk" mode if they have that option.

4) Can't you select a bunch of notes, and drag 'em all up or down? Try shift-click or ctrl-click, or drag a rectangle around it...
My MusicCalc is temporary offline.
We are the KVR collective. Resistance is futile. You will be assimilated. :borg:
