I want one or two audio inputs for my computer (mac mini), but don't want to buy a complete external sound-card (i don't need it, use only VSTi's). What can you guys recommend me?

Audio input & output IS a complete soundcard
Wasn't there a crappy mycom usb sound device for $20 ?? Maybe that does the trick (same as crappy AC97 but hey, it works!)

There are some devices there that could be suitable perhaps?

Cookie: exactly, and i don't want any outputs, thus, i don't need a complete soundcard... a complete soundcard means outputs + inputs, and I only need _inputs_. My computer (mac mini) already has a built-in sound card with one output (no input)
Larsby: I'll check it out, but it seems these devices gives me outputs also.

it's not just the hardware, though. You may need good ASIO drivers for it - depending on what you want to do - and that will inevitably lead you to one of the standard USB sound cards - with inputs and outputs

Maudio has a smart card recorder. @ 400 bucks its not cheepo but it inputs audio in a drag/drop format records at higher bit/sample rates. Does field recoding, and allows you to capture without turning on the comp. It is not a sound card but. All you want is a way to get sound in right?

Don't know how good it is, but Samson has a USB mic - in case you are happy with your current audio and just want to plug a mic in.
