Hello,
There are so many comb filters, I'm asking for some input from you guys.
What are some of your favorite comb filters.
I want to make my vocals sound like a robot.
free and pay are both fine.
Thanks

Ohmygod.
KarmaFX's are excellent as well, you can do loads of crazy stuff with them.
Not to mention Oli Larkin's dronebox, which started my love of comb filters.
If you are using Ableton Live, you couldn't go better than it's resonator effects.

There are some nice comb filters in Tone2 BiFilter. Not the most configurable, but easy to use and sounds good.

The king of all comb filters. How could I forget? Macomate is truly great. Literally a 88 toothed comb.

I used to love the GRM tools one. I never got around to buying it, but I should - I no longer have any access to it.
I remember once you started automating it and flicking between presets with the morphing feature, the sounds are truly Dr. Who. I've not heard any comb filters to match them yet. Very easy to blow your speakers and crash the host though...
CamelSpace has quite sweet sounding comb filtering, although it's pretty basic in terms of parameters. I've just started a new track, and used 100% wet comb-filtering on a busy loop with a bit of delay thrown in...got it to sound almost 202-like, with a bit of semidriven OSCar 12dB/Oct with filter separation. Very nice.
I must try out some of those freebies. GRM tools all the way though...the best FX I never bought
Are they even still a going concern?

Hmmmm...just listened to the MP3 demos of Ironiser. That one has great potential...not quite as much feedback frenzy stuff, but definitely some nice twisted sounds.
Some of these FX are pretty bloody cheap for what they do too. I was over at AudioDamage's site before...a couple of their plugins, Ironiser, all for less than $100, and I can destroy almost any audio. These times are great times to live in.

wow the grm tools have actually gone up in price. They used to be aroun 149 for each pack.
I figured by now they would be bargain bin status.
to much for me to put out.
ironizer is very cool, but I can still here my voice come through.
robobear is sweet, but a bit too harsh and hard to control.
macomate is good, but not for me.
I'll keep looking.
thanks for the help.

Lucifer 2.0 has (when released) 9 comb filter effect types, with 3 of those BPM-synced step graphs for sequencing the FX parameters..! Its quite similar DSP to the comb-filters in GURU (I licensed the DSP from Vellocet).
give me a shout if you'd like to try a beta....

Another vote for Oli Larkin's "Dronebox 2":
http://www.kvraudio.com/get/1059.html
I bought this a couple of weeks ago (as part of a bundle - its cheap: great value for money). It comes with a great manual which explains everything in detail. Even on a simple drum loop, this thing sounds fantastic - it really makess an unpitched drum loop into something musical. I'm quite taken with it!
Highly recommended
