Just got splashtop hd remote desktop for ipad its quite good , it transfers audio and video over to the ipad almost perfectly.
Tried it with my laptop dual tv card using adhoc network and its great even about 20 feet away.
tried personus studio one but the audio would not transfer over on asio or windows.
It also supports android now.
There is a free version which extends the monitor over to ipad to try out.
Better than idisplay. Only £2.99

Just tried this on HTC DesireHD over WiFi. It's really very good. Watched a movie, fired up the DAW, inserted and tweaked a VSTi and dragged MIDI files on to the DAW from Explorer. The audio output is also streamed to the phone. I have a Galaxy Note II arriving tomorrow, which should be even better
I'll test both devices over 3G tomorrow and report back.
