Can DM1 effects only effect the whole mix?!

I just can't see how you can get an effect in DM1 to just apply to a single sound. Having to apply an effect to the entire mix makes them absolutely totally and entirely useless. I tried to contact the devs but they ignored me :-(

Not overly impressed with the app or the devs.
