strange Kontakt bug - pan and vol not working

Guys I have a strange behaviour in Kontakt every now and then. I loaded an nki just as always, and suddenly the instruments controls for panorama and volume have no effect. Only tune still works. Normally this works with every nki as it is supposed to. But some of my Kontakt sessions seem to be screwed up in some way. Any idea what the problem could be?

When you click the edit button (the wrench) and then go to the instrument settings tab, is the "accept standard vol and pan cc" box checked for the troublesome nki?

Yes these are set, and the nki works in all other projects.
I tried something: if I go into the output section and do Outputs -> Batch -> Clear all outputs and create new per instrument
than the sliders work again. But what have the outputs to do with the sliders. Really strange. Something seems to be messed up in that projects' Kontakt session.
