Hello everyone,

I was recently contacted on http://www.soundcloud.com (http://www.soundcloud.com) by the artists manager of Smash Up Records with the very nice question if they could release my music. At first I was completely hyped that someone wanted to do something like that. But I had some (more realistic) friends who pointed out that it could be extremely fake...

So I'm here to ask you guys if you know anything about this industry and whether this company is even real.

well....

its a net label. now thats not to say theres anything inherently wrong with net labels, but a lot of them tend to be a little fly by night, with artists that dont generate much interest.

if they dont ask you for money...and have a contract that says you keep the rights and get paid...then maybe they can give you some exposure.

its a bare bones wordpress page, with a bunch of artists ive never heard of (which doesnt mean anything considering i dont listen to that kind of music).

if i were you id make sure you get to keep your rights and dont have to pay them for anything. id also check out the other artists on the site...see what kind of following they have and if they do music you want to be associated with.

again..being a small net label doesnt mean theyre no good...but it does warrant caution and research.

I have researched it a little already and one of their artists responded to my mail, he said it was thrustworthy but, indeed, not really worth the contract.

They sent me the contract to maybe sign it and return it... I don't know if any of you guys have experience with this, but since my native language is NOT English I have no idea what to believe and what not.

Any chance one you guys might be able to help out with that? Send me a PM if you know anything about this and want to help.

I'd be wary of any real deal thrustworthy experience. You might get preggers!
