AKG c214 Condenser Mic and Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 Interface good for home studio?

Hello!

I am purchasing some gear to round out my home studio. I use Ableton and am pretty happy with it and would like to continue working with it. I have done a lot of research and will be buying the AKG C 214 condenser microphone, mostly to do vocal recordings. I also need an interface and although I've done some research, I'm not sure which one to get. It seems as though Ableton recommends Focusrite interfaces. There is a AKG C 214 and Focusrite 2i2 Bundle for $499 here:

I'm looking for other interface recommendations. I'd like to keep my mic/interface setup and preamp (if necessary) under $1000, ideally closer to the $500 mark. Thank you for your input in advance!

Hi!

I don't have a 214; I have a 414, and I allmost never like it on vocals, I allways end up using my Audio-technica AT4033 instead. It really is a matter of taste but I share that with you because speaking of that with friends I realized that a lot of people do not like this mic on vocals... I'd say that it is "too bright" to my taste in this context, I allways EQ it a lot after if I use it.
I don't know the interface; I don't have any opinion on that.
