Using a mic into a FF400, how would I wire from the FF400 to a Sony PCM-50? And any issues with this?
Thanks

A guess ; route the mic channel to one or two of your outputs via whatever editor lets you configure the FF400 routing, and hook those outputs to the line-in on the PCM-50.
An idiot on Set Theory:
"In some cases there is an object called red that contains everything that is red. In much the same way a pot is a plate."

editor? maybe I misunderstand, but I would be going directly from FF to PCM50. I'm guessing SPDIF on FF to line in PCM50...does this work? (for mobile recording...) FF also has ADAT but I've never used either.

well, presumably, since the FF works standalone, there's some way to tell it to route input channel X to output channel Y?william lawes wrote:editor?
Sorry, I'd missed the fact that the PCM-50 has SPDIF inputs, so I'd assumed you were going analog.I'm guessing SPDIF on FF to line in PCM50...does this work? (for mobile recording...) FF also has ADAT but I've never used either.

Thanks for that feedback...I haven't used the editor on the FF as stand alone or with the PCM50, so will be figuring things out from the manual. After reading this thread - https://www.forum.rme-audio.de/viewtopic.php?id=6243 - I wonder if there is anyone with experience using the FF400 and Sony PCM50 together? Will be doing some testing this week...
Thanks

The Adat Optical Connector on your FF400 should also serve as an SPDIF. There you can connect a optical cable to your sony. In the fireface settings you choose that for spdif you will use the optical ports instead of the coaxial ones.
