Riffer https://audiomodern.com/shop/plugins/riffer/ incredibly lightweight and easy to use . Can be used as a standard sequencer. Run through https://frozenplain.com/product/obelisk/ is a gem

(also stochas)

Riffer is on sale for $49 and I have $20 credit so
it will cost me $29. Very tempted especially after
you declared it as a favorite.

I have Obelisk and Stochas but have not tried them
yet. Will get onto midi mode in 2019 after my new
Music PC is built.

I have a feeling that Loomer Architect (!Epoch) is about to become my favourite.

MIDI FX / Mappers / Randomisers / Generators - https://www.codefn42.com/ (lots of great tools)

Chord generator - Scaler - https://www.pluginboutique.com/product/ ... 933-Scaler

Mangler (audio) - Illformed Glitch2 - https://illformed.com/glitch/ (FSU!)

Mangler (audio) - https://freakshowindustries.com/backmask (best website ever.)

Randomiser / Generator / Euclidiser (midi) - MIDI Ex-Machina - https://github.com/RobU23/ReaScripts/wi ... Ex-Machina (by me), and sorry it's Reaper only (and yes, I know it's pig ugly... v2 probably arriving next year with a tasty GUI and loads of updates) :D

I cannot say it often enough:

Everybody considering buying Riffer should first take a look at Melody Sauce...

Riffer does the job really randomly and till it spits out something more or less useful you have at least 9 mismatches... a 10% or less quote is not good enough

Meldoy sauce has for me at least a quote of 60-70% with the ability to choose between different moods and what is even more important it keeps everything it generated in playable slots!!!
Hitting the random button in Riffer deletes everything it generated before...

why would anyone who does not have Live be interested in melody sauce? Even if you do have Live, Melody Sauce fills a different requirement to Riffer, just not at all the same, and for me at least Melody Sauce does not seem very useful

good - did not see that on the isotonik homepage - still think it is not the same market as Riffer and not at all useful for me. Just seems a completely different product without a lot of overlap with Riffer - or is Melody Sauce like Riffer and very interactive on the fly - changing velocity and pitch of individual notes if you want, altering loop length and loop segment and so on?

Got it´s own webpage: https://evabeat.com/

Second: Riffer is of course a bit more adjustable, but what does it serves you, if it spits out BS 90% of the time...
You could take any arppegiator with random mode and feed it with the notes of the chosen scale... it´s the same result: 90% nonsense but in most arps by far more adjustable than Riffer...

I bought it very cheap, but was regardless the cheap price the most disappointing purchase I ever did...

Simple....Logic´s included arp and Cthulhu sometimes. Otherwise i love some iOS apps as midi controller, sequencer, arp. So much more fun and immediate to use. Even using 4 or more different arps at the same time is more fun on multi-touch (if you just don´t want to trigger them all at the same time in the same way).
Most MIDI FX on desktop are terrible in terms of workflow and GUI and unflexible for live tweaking.
But there are some gems in the Reaktor community like Spiral or Nod-E (or how it´s called).
