i only bought the upgrade from reason 10 to reason 11 suite.. the polystep is included.. (i had only the complex-1, so for the parsec and scenic hybrid, and the two extra effects. the other stuff, are more romplers. but me thinks they can still be usefull, i guess.)
still on sale in two shops, audiodeluxe and jrrshop (they bought some licenses me think, and have still left).
i looked to the VK-2 synth, demoed, wasn't impressed. strangely. but i have other stuff, perhaps that is why i am not impressed.
o well.
the upgrade to suite was enough money spend (although via jrrshop, and EU...).

EDIT: i looked around the shop for the deals. but most things i have as VST (not the same, but same possibilities or more even). the instruments i now have and effects/players, are great. so.

For someone with suite, and many other VSTs/DAWs, are there any 'must-have' rack extensions worth looking at in the sale ?

Well, I've been in an unenviable position that when 11 dropped I already had 75% of REs included in Suite and I only really wanted PolyStep (and potentially Scenic, which since then proven to not be as great for my needs) :)

must have is a big word, but these kind of sequencers are nice, if like to work with them.
i saw it just now.

That's way to little info to provide advice :D What kind of music you do? Are you thinking of instruments or FX? Etc. :)

GAS :D

But anything really. Music ideas cover orchestral->film->pop->EDM and Sound Design.

yes, i have read that somewhere. i follow a lot on KVR... but for me suite was enough extra, for the price, even if you consider if there will be a upgrade sale for reason 11 (standard..).

the scenic can be micicked, in a way, but i already have used in a track, with own samples.
the workflow is great. that also has the effect you get different results. the scenic i like, but it is always personal, what works for you. for me it is great for sounddesign.
so it is an addition for me. the parsec, in a way, i also "have", but the parsec, how its build it will produce nice sounds.

i didn't wanted to upgrade to reason 11, i wanted to wait for 12, but in an impulse i bought suite.
no regret. and the reason rack, makes it so simple to use it in my other DAW's... no bitwig... haha...
(bitwig looks like like a hand tailored suit for me, on paper, never tried it, how i work now i don't feel limited, on the contrary, but perhaps in the future. i bought ableton, never thought i would do it, including the push 2. and i like it...).

o well, very happy with reason 11 suite!

Well, then anything from Blamsoft, Synapse Audio, Lectric Panda, Selig, Robotic Bean, Jiggery Pokery, Noise Engineering (for Eurorack modular stuff) should fit the bill - they all do high quality, creative and often unique REs :)

For your own sake don't try Bitwig, if you enjoy Ableton. Not that Bitwig is bad - quite the contrary! - but you will have hard time deciding between the two, assuming you want to focus :) They're very similar, but also have their own individual strengths and idiosyncracies and the worst case scenario - and very likely - is you'll like bits & pieces from both :)

And it's very true that Reason Rack VST enhances ANY other DAW it's put into! :tu:

i already have ableton (suite), cubase pro 10.5, reason 11 suite, maschine (is it a daw, but i make complete arragments with it, most of the times), reaper, harrisson mixbus.
i need the focus, this already a lot, but i can let them work together, in several ways.
and i enjoy ableton. and for modulators, i have softube modular, voltage modular, reaktor 6.3.2 (full, with toybox packs, euroreakt pack). i even have oscillot....

so, that is way, i look sometimes at bitwig, but i think it will be too much. as you say. but still...
no, and with a special effect arsenal... i can do what i want..

Thanks - just looking at the Robotic Bean sequencers. Definitely REs that are unique and/or make use of the Reason rack are the sorts of things that make it worthwhile to me.

Great choice! Also their Resonans is a pretty different synth compared to what's out there, even in VST format:

I already have Tassman & Chromophone as well as Kaivo and various Reaktor ensembles. - not sure if I need another as whilst I love the sound, I don't use them much.

Owned Reason 10 couple times. While then, I tried almost all the RE's and pretty much 60-70% of RE's are just garbage. I liked Reason itself, but sold it, because of the tiny blur gui and no midi chase. Until those two's are added, I won't even bothering use it again, even I own Reason 11 Intro now. Don't use the Reason itself, sometimes I use the plugin tho. Good deals there tho.
