I'm and FL Studio user and I'm looking for a barebone's AMD Athlon system with an ASIO-compatible soundcard that will give me low latency (<20ms). Any thoughts on sites I should check out, or should I just try to build the system myself? Thanks.

Hmmm... I'd try to build it yourself, if you know anything about PCs... It's a good learning experience, and by the time you get done, you'll know a lot more about a PC! As far as what you get when you pay for a "music PC", you can basically buy all the same stuff off the shelf... it's the tweaking that really makes a difference, and what you pay extra for with the turnkey systems? But, most PCs built properly, and optimized with a few things in mind, will work great for a DAW! Lots of FAQs on building a DAW from scratch!
Some good ones:
Music XPC
PC audiolabs
Vision DAW

i got a unit from them - worked with justin - cool cat great machine. i didn't go for a prefab unit - got a barebones sys with a few upgrades made for my existing i/o set up. much cheaper that way - but yeah the machine is great - rock solid.
