It would be cool if I could zoom in while editing the start and end point of an audio part / sample in the sequencer:

This is what you get after double-clicking a sample in the sequencer.

(I mean the thing below the Vol/Pan/Coarse values)

It's very hard to hit the exact point, especially with long samples and when using a laptop's touchpad.

yes, this is very important and it's already on the list - however a better solution than zooming would imo be to put it on the waveform in the channel-editor :-)

It is on the list?
I can't find it on the "Coming next" list on www.xt-hq.com/download

And what is the channel editor?

Having thought about it, the absolutely most intuitive way would be to able to slice samples in the sequencer by ALT+clicking on them.
Like this, you could just zoom in, ALT+click where you want the start point, and then delete the slice you just cut off.
It would be the same as in the audio part.

I have another question: Why do sequencer audio parts look different from external audio parts? The waveform displayed in an audio track is not very accurate :x
energyXT is great, though. :D

Post

it's on the feature-request-list

with channel-editor I mean the waveform which is in the top-left corner in your screenshot

editing is possible very accurately there - if the fades would sit on these waveform-displays it would be great - if you want to edit start/end or move the part etc. just zoom-in by using your scrollwheel while holding crtl

and yes, cutting of audio-clips in the sequencer is very important as well :-)

Post

I totally agree with you.
But as to me, it would be sufficient if the channel editor wouldn't exist and the waveform which is currently in the channel editor would be just displayed directly in the sequencer, slice-able etc.
The volume, pan and coarse would still be there, though :) just my point of view...

NOOOOOO!!!! :tantrum:

You can add as many channels as you want and they can all have different settings and are all fed into the same track - it's one of eXT's coolest features  :-D

That's exactly why i wrote "as to me".
Apart from that, wouldn't it be enough if you could insert samples in the sequencer by pressing "h" and activating "Edit" for the track?

currently not - there are only the first three channels shown and you can't mute, solo, pan, fade, etc. :?

Post

and even if - the scrolling would be too much of a hassle - so the answer for me is 'no'
