PRISMATRIX is a collection of 50 presets for Sugar Bytes’ Effectrix 2. These presets remix incoming audio in various ways, making extensive use of my favorite included effects and the parameter motion.

Each preset utilizes a combination of multiple effects, sequenced and chained to create unique chaotic warping and rhythmic motion. These are not just singular repeater patterns or flat predictable rhythms, each preset is concocted to transform your sounds into new musical ideas.

Each preset also makes use of the midi switcher, which allows you to select between preset variations with midi input notes (or manually with the mouse). Each preset uses seven of the available sub-presets for a total of 350 variations. These variations alter effects motion and settings as well as the sequencer patterns. There is a lot to explore in this pack.

These presets are great for coming up with new ideas, play into them with a synth patch to come up with new melodies. Or use them on a boring chord progression to spark ideas. They don’t have to be on the whole track, with midi input, you can use the white keys to activate moments of PRISMATRIX, then use the black keys as a bypass switch.
