It's amazing what you've managed to do on the iPad. A beautifully
epic and characterful song. The saxophone really stands out.
Overall, the song feels like a spacious scene with relaxed people,
somewhat psychedelic due to the background vocals. It could also
be film music or film background music.
Hmm, don't you think you could work more intensively on the song
using a desktop DAW and, for example, give it more structure? No
idea - sometimes the moment is crucial, and in that case the iPad
can be the tool of choice.

Thank you listening and commenting. I think you may be right about a desktop DAW. I have used those extensively in the past. In the late 80s up to 2004, I had a full studio set up in the guest bedroom. I used Cakewalk and Sonar on a PC that was considered to be powerful at the time. I had some decent studio monitors and several keyboards. I still have all of those things, but they are in a closet. I also have a complete PA out in the garage. In 2004, things happened that caused me to give up music for 16 years. My wife told me about people making music with iPads so I bought one and got back into it.enroe wrote: Thu Apr 16, 2026 4:30 am It's amazing what you've managed to do on the iPad. A beautifully

I love the freedom that it gives me. I can take my entire “studio” anywhere at any time in a backpack. I have done that many times in some exotic locations. When we get home, I can take my workups outside to my patio and finish them while enjoying the sun and smell of fresh cut grass. In a conventional studio, I feel trapped. I also love the low cost of these iPad apps. I now have the digital equivalent of hardware synths that would have cost thousands of dollars.
I can also do any type of music I wish without worrying about the democratic approach of an actual band. I played in bands for decades and loved it, but now it’s just too much work, late hours, and travel.
My so-called “music” doesn’t fit well within the current popular genres, and I like it that way. It seems as though electronic dance, rap, and ambient music is getting the most attention these days. I like those styles, but there are millions of people already doing that, so I just do my own thing and disregard popularity. It appears that I have developed a very small but consistent group that likes my “stuff”, so I focus on them. My wife tells me that I won’t be “discovered” until I’m dead. I can hardly wait!
Here are a few things that I did back in the day, in my “studio” before the iPad. I remastered them on the iPad and I think they turned out “not half bad”. Hope you enjoy.
