Atmosia 3...Your Thoughts

I am just finding out about this today thanks to the thread started about the Expansion packs. But I want to discuss the plugin itself.
I downloaded the demo and here are my thoughts.
Because of no sample import, you're limited to the raw data provided. For me, this is a serious limiting factor with this software. Sure, it sounds great for what it does (atmospheric stuff) and appears to be quite flexible, but eventually you're just going to run out of sounds to create unless you buy all these Expansion packs. And maybe that's the point.
I'm not sure I want to go down that rabbit hole.
What are your thoughts? Is there something I'm missing? I have spent quite some time with the demo and there is so much I know I could do with more raw material to work with.

I was just reading about it. Do they mean 700 sound sources in total including the expansions, or is that just the plugin itself? 700 is a pretty good amount.
OTOH if I want to do some granular related stuff, I have Synthmaster3, Icarus 3, and a couple of others that let me import sounds. I wouldn’t buy this product, but that’s just me.

Seems like I already have everything it does covered with Omnisphere, and Omnisphere has a significantly larger sample library. Seems like the Orb in Omnisphere is significantly more powerful than the XY controller also. Not to mention you can import samples if you want
It would cost around $150 to get the software and the expansions. While that's cheaper than Omnisphere if you are into those types of sounds you will be far better off putting that $150 towards Omnisphere

I have them all and I kind of feel the same.Examigan wrote: Wed Apr 29, 2026 2:01 pm I was just reading about it. Do they mean 700 sound sources in total including the expansions, or is that just the plugin itself? 700 is a pretty good amount.

And I own Omnisphere too. Funny, I rarely use it for atmospheric stuff.IvyBirds wrote: Wed Apr 29, 2026 3:30 pm Seems like I already have everything it does covered with Omnisphere, and Omnisphere has a significantly larger sample library. @wagtunes, Tracktion can be hit or miss, depending on the overall quality of the plugin they are promoting. The Dawesome stuff is great; a few others I won't mention, are a little half-baked and not ready for prime time. This has just been my experience so YMMV.
Edit: I am downloading the demo even though it looks like Channel Robot pulled a page from Luftrum's playbook and Tracktion has a horribly throttled download speed (less than 1Mb/s...)

Yeah, I'll pass. It's not bad, but not great either. I would highly recommend checking out Lunaris or Bioscape, if you like the Kontakt vibe; Cube by Lunacy Audio if you want something a bit different that operates smoothly and will allow you to use your own sample content.

For people who don't mind using NI Kontakt; Haunted Spaces (2) can be interesting. V2 just got released.

Nice! That’s a good amount to start out with.Lind0n wrote: Thu Apr 30, 2026 3:49 pmNo not including expansions...its 700 in the base productExamigan wrote: Wed Apr 29, 2026 2:01 pm I was just reading about it. I would agree with the "It's not bad, but not great either.",that pretty much sums up my impression.

Look at it as a sound pack. Not much different to any sound pack that requires Kontakt player… Compared to that the price seems reasonable… Haunted Spaces is much more expensive… If you are into granulizing your own sounds, there are enough other tools to do that…
