Hey. I can't do much work today due to electrical problems. I stowed my Synths to avoid damage.

So...one of my games uses the BucketONE exclusively for its music. What would you wise and experienced folks say if I were to acquire a Behringer Pro-800 with the hopes of having a physical experience with this kind of work?

Yes, I'm still working on an entire album for my JD-XA and soon the FANTOM-06. This would be extra. At least I'm not coveting the Sequential original! Yikes!

I don’t know BucketONE, but I will say that I’ve listened to many demos of the Pro-800, and I have to say, it sounds great, especially for the money. That said, so do many plugin emulations.

I personally have a “code” for buying hardware synthesizers. I don’t care about having a hands on experience. I get that from my controllers. What do care about is having unique instruments. I look for hardware that’s different than what I have access to in plugins. So that disqualifies the Behringer stuff, because they’re basically modern clones. So I’d look at something like the Dreadbox synths, which sound sweet but also very different.

But that’s me. If you’re interested in a hands on experience and the Sequential Circuits sound at a budget price, sure. Go for it.

FB One is a Crumar BIT 01/99 Simulation.

If you want a P600 gligli emu, try Proxima by Synapse Audio. It's very good

The B800 is def on my list, it's a no brainer for an analogue poly synth

I agree, and I think that at these prices, there’s no reason to not have at least a couple of analogue synths. Even if you don’t notice a boost in sound quality, it will help take some of the load off your CPU, and they look cool.

Just FYI. It does have the sound of old "software envelopes" which gives a low muffled crackling sound. Back in the day I used to hate that stuff on my old Ensoniqs - but today I think it adds to the flavour.

I had several of the Sequential originals and preferred the JD-XA over them. IMO, the JT-2, 2-XM, or Model D would go better with the JD-XA.
