It refuses description, allowing only the vague approach of adjectives: dark, light, raw, angelic. Who or what is making these noises? Where are they coming from and what do they point to? What kind of entity can leave such a troubling sonic remnant?

At any rate if that news is indeed true then I can't think of a worse company to acquire Native Instruments.

That thread is in another subforum. One that some may not visit. (I don't so would have never seen the news).
With dozens of threads in the Instrument forum that should be in the "Everything Else Music Related" subforum I don't think this one is out of place.

Really curious where this will lead and how long this has been in the making.
The overlap between Maschine and MPC is big and with the MK3 being as old as it is and thd MPC One + apparently discontinued I am eager to learn what will come out of this.
I for one welcome the new overlords!
Although I wouldn't have minded Novation/Focusrite taking it over and release a Novation Circuit Maschine...

Looking forward to the endless takes about what this means by people who don't actually have any knowledge about what this means.

That's called speculation and if one has no solid data then one is left with nothing but speculation.concealed identity wrote: Fri May 08, 2026 12:44 pm Looking forward to the endless takes about what this means by people who don't actually have any knowledge about what this means.
At any rate I view the news with some trepidation due to my feelings about InMusic but am glad at least N.I. will not go under.

My Alesis and Marantz gear that was totally obliterated by inMusic looks on sad but longingly for my Native Instruments software I spent thousands on to get abandoned as well to the Island of Misfit toys
Beyond that what happens with all of the debt NI had? All if that debt is a giant anchor on inMusic which puts all of the other brands in a worse situation
Even if it doesn't lead to the bankruptcy of the entire thing, servicing that debt takes resources away from the other products/brands and that's in addition to resources being spent on NI products

Inmusic havent destroyed Moog or Akia (many think Akia MPC has benefited) so we can only hope for the best...it certainly isn't the worst case scenario and people won't like all of the choices Inmusic make, but at least its a music tech savvy business and not random VC.Teksonik wrote: Fri May 08, 2026 12:49 pm At any rate I view the news with some trepidation due to my feelings about InMusic but am glad at least N.I. will not go under.

i use a lot of izotope plugins, nothing (currently) NI, and one airmusic plugin. will go about my business, and not stress this at all. if the move keeps NI in the game, that's absolutely worth something.
