I tried it. It sure is a saturator. I don't personally hear the "transparency" in it, but maybe someone knows better than me. Does seem like a bit of an oddball in their library with how... regular it feels.

"clarity in sound" is what would come to mind first when i had to describe in short what i get out of their plugins.DrOcsid wrote: Sat May 30, 2026 10:37 pm I tried it. It sure is a saturator. I don't personally hear the "transparency" in it, but maybe someone knows better than me.
i`ll see. maybe it`s still on sale when i have time to demo it myself.

I bought it in the meantime. Cause i`m an idiot,....and see my signature.pekbro wrote: Tue Jun 02, 2026 8:29 pm I like it, more because it’s not as subtle as the rest of the phoenix clones. This has more weight imo.
I do not know the phoenix clones.
So, i used it so far only on Piano. Piano is for me a good base to check some things, since it has clear highs and deep bass.
While i demoed it, i liked the sound, i see the bass enhancement it creates,...some EQing might do as well, .....but it`s in that sense a simple deal, no hassle.
But: i found that the sound had a certain type of "beeing split off from the sound source" quality.
It`s like if they`re doing some special treatment, but the FXed part and the source does not come back together completly. That was not exactly convincing.
But: i had a certain post-processing chain running, and within that was Sapphire doing some great re-balancing work. I just have more options at hand to form my sound with it. AND: it`s easy enough on the CPU !
Not tested with other signals so far !
So, my impression: this looks to me -so far- not like the same quality of work as many of the other TBTech plugins are. But i just stumbled over a good fit vs. how i work. And $ is low.......

Yea the price was nicer than the Garuc Audio plugin, I bought that too, this is a nice alternative that I use often. I even bought their $19 tape plugin as I like it for some stuff.
Definitely designed to be lower tier for pricing reasons no doubt.

Hey Pekbro, since you have a massive arsenal plugins, what would you consider the best options in this category?pekbro wrote: Wed Jun 03, 2026 12:14 am Yea the price was nicer than the Garuc Audio plugin, I bought that too, this is a nice alternative that I use often. Hmm, probably the one from Garuc Audio. Tho this is better for less subtle stuff. They are dynamics processors, more than tape sims. They Just do that in an unusual way, which is why they are cloning the original.billinder33 wrote: Wed Jun 03, 2026 1:06 pmHey Pekbro, since you have a massive arsenal plugins, what would you consider the best options in this category?pekbro wrote: Wed Jun 03, 2026 12:14 am Yea the price was nicer than the Garuc Audio plugin, I bought that too, this is a nice alternative that I use often. Ploytec Aroma is the other clone that many are familiar with which I could not remember. I don't have that one.

*Heh, I don't think my plugin collection is too bad, couple thousand-ish, chiefly effects. I like effects. There are those with more than me for sure, mine is mostly just years in the making.
