Pulsar P11 Abyss thoughts?

The original plugin drop thread here had zero replies, which is surprising because the thread on that 'Spacey' forum is like 75 pages long. Maybe folks here don't like the $300 price tag lol?

Anyhoo, I demo'd it this morning in a mastering context. Set it up in the way I like to hear mastering compression, then compared side-by-side it to the Vertigo, which IMO nails the swingy, 'pumpy' vibe that I like to hear. Initial results were very close!

Then I fine tuned it as much as possible to mimic the Vertigo, but I could never get the low end thump to land quite like the Vertigo's does. This one is a little more tweaky than the Vertigo which is kind of a quick plugin that 'does the thing', but the high end on Abyss 'blooms' a little more, so I could see use cases where using this one would make sense.

To this point I've generally avoided Pulsar Modular, mostly because of their insane pricing and their somewhat Acustica-like marketing approach. Also because I'm not really their target market. But lately I've been upping my mastering arsenal, and this one is undeniably good in that context. If they run a July 4 sale this year, I may pick this one up as a more versatile version of the Vertigo.

What say you KVR? Anyone using this? Any tricks, tips, thoughts, or comparisons to share?

Pretty sure they'll be running a sale for a week from July 1.

Still need to get my head fully around Abyss but I've been impressed with it so far.
