(FLS issue) Keyboard input lost after changing presets

Hi
I've had this behavior for as long as I can remember, across different versions of FL Studio/different computers:
Whenever I open a plugin and start browsing presets, the plugin stops responding to keyboard input after each preset change. No notes are played until I click somewhere on the plugin window (generally the title bar), after which the plugin starts responding normally again.
This happens with both native FL Studio plugins and third-party plugins, so it doesn't seem to be related to a particular plugin or manufacturer.
The issue repeats every time I change presets:
1. Load plugin.
2. Play notes normally.
3. Change preset.
4. Plugin no longer responds to keyboard input.
5. Click on the plugin window.
6. Keyboard input works again.
I've experienced this for so long that I'm not sure whether this is normal FL Studio behavior or if some setting in my installation is causing it.
Things already tried, without success:
-Enabling/disabling focus-related options.
-Enabling/disabling "Allow the plugin to handle keystrokes before the host does".
-Testing different wrapper settings.
-Testing detached and non-detached plugin windows.
-Checking Typing Keyboard to Piano Keyboard behavior.
Has anyone encountered this before, or knows what could be causing it?

I can asure you this is not the normal behaviour!
here on my side I cannot replicate it either... everything is working as expected, changing presets lets me triggering the instrument with Midi Keyboard or QWERTY keyboard without any problems...
You should open a support ticket on IL website to get some help: https://www.image-line.com/fl-studio-support

I had something happen for the first time last night maybe similar. I was working on a track and wanted to put another VST effect in the mixer, but I click and I click and not even the menu pops up. I ended up saving it, shutting it down and reopening. Worked after that.

It cannot harm to have one but just for this issue it shouldn´t be necessary...james_laverc wrote: Wed Jun 17, 2026 7:01 am Well... Think I will have to buy a midi keyboard.
Thanks.
It must work with "Typing keyboard to piano" too!
