Hey everyone, :tu:

Just wanted to post a quick update on a tool I've been building to replace old, clunky desktop SysEx librarians: knob.monster. :phones:

I just pushed a new update and added support for several highly requested vintage boards, plus some improvements to the MIDI stream parsing logic.

What's new in this update:
  • Added Korg M1 Support: Full dump/recall support for the classic workstation.
Added Roland Jupiter-6 & Casio CZ-101 Support: You can now backup and restore banks from these vintage phase distortion and analog synthesizers.
On-the-fly ASCII Parsing: The Hex-to-ASCII parser has been optimized. When you dump a bank (e.g. 32 patches from a DX7), it now instantly extracts and parses the text characters from the raw registers to auto-label the presets in the database in real-time.
Packet Pacing/Delay Calibration: Tweaked the transmission delay intervals between MIDI blocks to prevent buffer overflows on older 8-bit chipsets (no more random MIDI Buffer Error screens!).
If you have any of these synths sitting in your studio and want to test the Web MIDI handshake, I'd love to hear how it behaves with your specific MIDI-to-USB cables.

Check it out at https://knob.monster (works in Chrome/Edge, free to backup and search your first few banks).

We all know how finicky those cheap blue $10 USB-to-MIDI cables are from Amazon :help: they love dropping packets during long dumps. So, a lot of the work in this update was optimizing transmission pacing specifically for them. :hyper:

Let me know what vintage hardware support you want to see added next!

Cheers!
