Just a short notice, because I saw a review on the Plexum page that seems to confuse, how Plexum works. So to clarify:

Plexum is a MIDI plugin. It does not generate audio. Unfortunately, there is no DAW-independent plugin format for such plugins (which would be best placed on the input side of a track), and so we generate instrument plugins, because they are allowed to output MIDI data. You know this from plugins like Scaler or Seqund. Plexum works just the same.

But that also means an important difference to your usual instrument tracks: they act as a midi input port (replacing or filtering the actual input port), not as a midi receiving instrument!

You create an instrument track with Plexum, Scaler or Seqund on it
You create an instrument track with the synth of your choice
You set the synth track's midi input to plexum, Scaler or Seqund

And this last step gives you the clue. Those plugins replace your usual midi ports. Instead of, say, your external midi controller, the plugin now "plays" the midi notes. And since it produces no audio, any attempt to bounce or freeze a track with those plugins on them, will result in empty tracks. You can only record the midi they output, just as you would record the midi output from your midi controller.

Record arm the synth track, hit record and the notes are recorded to that track. Once done, you can bounce or freeze that track to your heart's desire.

There are quite some DAWs, that allow to stack several instruments on one track. Fender Studio Pro, for example. But that function is reserved for instruments - which are plugins that generate audio output from the midi clip on the track.

I'M not the best at explaining things simple and straight forward, but I hope it somehow helps to understand, why it is impossible to bounce Plexum on its own?
