About the plugin
NAM Universal II is a complete guitar and bass signal chain built around Neural Amp Modeler capture playback. Capture-based pedals and amplifiers flow into cabinet processing, IntellEQ tone shaping, chorus, delay, reverb, and global output tools in one interface.
Work in mono or stereo for practice, recording, live rigs, reamping, and capture auditioning. The signal path stays visible, so every stage can be shaped without leaving the plug-in.
NAM Pedals and Amplifiers
Separate capture slots: Keep NAM pedal captures before the dedicated NAM amplifier stage, with input, output, and tone controls for each part of the rig.
Compatible content: Both A1 and A2 NAM captures are supported. Load .nam files from the Content Browser or drag them directly onto the Pedals and Amplifier pages.
Fast auditioning: Step through compatible captures while the complete signal chain remains ready around them.
Cabinets and IRs
Blend up to four cabinet bundles or conventional impulse responses. Where the content supports it, choose microphone, position, and distance, then set pan, blend, polarity, mute, and solo for each slot.
Automatic alignment compensation, Oomph, Sparkle, low and high cut, Drive, IR Shift, and IR export complete the cabinet stage.
IntellEQ Tone Shaping
Shape the areas that matter with Rumble, Definition, Bite, Air, Scoop I, Scoop II, and Smoothness: focused musical tone controls that keep the workflow direct after the amplifier stage.
Post Effects
Chorus: Add movement and width with speed, depth, tone, and wet/dry mix.
Delay: Use stereo or tempo-aware repeats with sync, tap, link, ping-pong, modulation, filtering, feedback, and mix controls.
Reverb: Move from focused spaces to ambient textures with character, damping, shimmer, mix, and size.
Utilities
Gate and Doubler: Control noise and create stereo width from a mono performance.
Drop and Room: Transpose from 0 to 12 semitones and add room ambience near the end of the chain.
Tight and Smooth: Apply focused low- and high-range control before the final output.
Performance: Set input calibration, choose 1x, 2x, 4x, or 8x oversampling, and tune with the built-in tuner.
Content Browser and Presets
100+ hand-picked capture packs are included. Easily import your own library with drag and drop, keep it organized with simple tag management, and find the right sound quickly with search and filtering. Browse local NAM profiles, impulse responses, cabinet bundles, and available expansions in one place, mark favourites, revisit recent content, preview where available, and save the complete rig as a preset.
MIDI Control
Right-click supported controls for quick MIDI Learn, or use the MIDI Mapping Editor for detailed parameter, switch, and preset assignments.
Save reusable MIDI maps and recall presets from a controller for consistent practice, recording, and live-rig setups.
No Dependencies
Don't have access to either a VST3, AAX or AU host? No worries, you can still run NAM Universal II all on its own!
A fully standalone version is included with your download.
Completely FREE and works with all your older A1 profiles and the new A2 architecture, and your cabinet IRs. A free 3D multi mic "FAT" cab with SM57/Royer 121 mics is included...additional premium 3D cabinet packs with more mics will be available in the plugin's builtin marketplace browser at a later time.
