Very cool, and sounds awesome. I would pay for that, and it's freeware
Will happily sit alongside the excellent Nils' K1v which is also freeware

Cool. Full Bucket has some really great synths. Can't wait for this one.

Sounds good, and will be a great companion to other recent additions like TAL-J-8X. It has only taken the plugin industry 20 years to progress from early ‘80s synths to mid ‘80s synths!

Well, it's more that they tackle the good/desirable/cool synths first, and then when those are all done, go back and do the budget/cheap/mid-range synths next. Hence we now get a rash of mid range, limited featureset-DCO polys - the kinds of things we bought back in the day as a compromise because we couldn't afford the big boys.
That doesn't mean they can't be useful instruments of course, and modern enhancements can elevate their potential for sure. But there is a reason a lot of these synths were ignored for modelling for a long time... in the scheme of things, they just aren't that great compared to other, better, instruments.

The VST3 version doesn't show up in my plugin list on mac. Too bad development on it stopped abruptly 4 years ago, and the K4v plugin never materialized, either. Someone even donated a K4 to Nils to finish it.IvyBirds wrote: Sun Jul 26, 2026 5:50 pm Will happily sit alongside the excellent Nils' K1v which is also freeware

Oh, I'm really excited! The K1V has some issues while I'm at the computer, but Full Bucket's never let me down, and I really look forward to this if it can replace the K1V and have a similarly huge library.

Why would you think the K3 plugin would replace the K1 plugin? They are completely different synths - the K3 is a DCO analog poly, the K1 is an 8-bit digital rompler with no filters...

the K3 is a hybrid additive/wavetable Synthesizer with analog filters. It's not a DCO-based analog polysynth

Sorry yeah, brain fart as the the K5 is fully additive, the earlier K3 was more analog-like but it does technically have digitally controlled oscillators...
In any case, it's nothing like the later K1/K4 range.
(I used to have Keyfax 2 literally imprinted upon my brain - unfortunately I'm now at the age where some of the finer details won't fit in any more and escape...
