Welcome SIMON — The Mastering Equalizer
Hi everyone,
We're Lemur Audio, a small and genuinely new company from the Czech Republic. New as a plug-in developer — but not new to the work itself. Between us we've spent close to 30 years making music: producing, mixing and living with records from the first idea to the final master. SIMON grew straight out of that. It's the mastering EQ we always wanted on our own mixes, so we sat down and built it.
WHAT SIMON IS
SIMON is a remarkably rewarding pairing of two worlds: an ultra-clean, ultra-precise EQ model inspired by a famous mastering equalizer — the transparent, surgical kind you reach for when a master has to stay honest — combined with an OP-AMP/TUBE nonlinear section inspired by another classic, a legendary tube parametric equalizer. This combination takes the original design to a whole new level of sonic refinement, liveliness and hardware-like feel.
The OP-AMP/TUBE section offers three modes of applying saturation and nonlinearities across the stereo channels:
EQUAL — both channels share exactly the same harmonic structure, for a perfectly focused, symmetrical stereo image.
MODERN — each channel gets a subtly different harmonic structure, adding gentle width and dimension.
VINTAGE — each channel has a distinctly different harmonic structure, perfect imperfection at the right moment, exactly when you need it.
Beyond the saturation itself, we modelled a further layer of nonlinearities that breathes dynamics, liveliness and musicality into the whole system — to the point where, we believe, it surpasses its hardware inspiration.
THE EQUALIZER
SIMON is a mastering equalizer with a fully symmetrical, two-channel layout. Each channel gives you:
• High and low shelves — a broad high shelf for air and top-end weight, and a low shelf switchable at 50 or 100 Hz for warmth and bottom-end control.
• Three fully parametric bands (LOW, MID, HIGH), each with its own gain, stepped Q and a mastering-grade frequency grid — broad and musical for tone-shaping, tight and surgical when you need to fix a single frequency.
• Its own output trim, so both channels stay independent end to end.
At the centre sits an INPUT TRIM that drives saturation stage: push harder for more harmonic colour and density, with a live SAT indicator showing exactly how hard it's working. AGC (auto gain compensation) keeps the output level matched as you work, so you judge tone rather than loudness — and so equalizing more doesn't secretly drive the saturation any harder.
Every frequency is stepped, so recalls are exact and repeatable — the same setting is the same setting, every time. LINK ties the two channels together for fast, symmetrical moves, and M/S switches processing from Left/Right to Mid/Side for independent control of the centre and the sides.
Three Quality modes cover the whole workflow: ZL (zero-latency) for tracking, HQ for everyday work, and ULTRA for maximum-fidelity bounces.
Formats: VST3 for Windows, and VST3 / AU for macOS (Intel and Apple Silicon).

SIMON is $29. A perpetual license. And it will stay $29 — no launch discount that quietly expires, no seasonal 70%-off, no countdown timers.
We thought hard about this. The usual plug-in pricing game creates an unfairness we want no part of: an early customer pays full price and supports the developer, then a few months later finds the exact same plug-in at a fraction of what they paid. That is a poor way to treat the people who backed you first.
So we chose one fair price for a quality plug-in, and we're keeping it there. If you buy SIMON today, you will never feel punished for having supported us early. That's the kind of relationship we want with our customers — a straightforward, honest one.
