"Echo-Loop" effect in software?

Denon's new DJ Tabletop cd player [DNS 1000] has an effect called "echo-loop" in it, does anyone know of any "software" that has this particular effect please? To me, the effect is simply an infinite repeat BUT you can speed it up, slow it down and adjust various parameters, Thanks.

There was a simple VSTi that was both graphically and functionally just like an old hardware 'Echoplex' tape looper with the virtual mechanical sliders and everything, but I haven't got a clue as to what happened to it. I remember trying it a couple of years ago and it was excellent. Google fails to find it as I speaketh.mikehende wrote:Denon's new DJ Tabletop cd player [DNS 1000] has an effect called "echo-loop" in it, does anyone know of any "software" that has this particular effect please? My apologies guys, I should have stated that my purpose is for "DJ" porgrams, meaning, I wish to use the effect alongside a DJ program and also use the effect "on the fly" which seems to be the major obstacle with these effects. I had looked into "Divine Machine" but got no help from their support so I had no choice but to abandon that thinking that their software cannot do it so that's why they did not reply to my pleas for help.
I will go and look into the "Elotronix" mentioned here and get back to you guys, thanks..

This effects are mostly connected with a tap tempo function (Denon took this echo loop function from the Pioneer DJ effect). I think you wont find anything made like this, they mostly take the tempo data from the VST host.mikehende wrote:Denon's new DJ Tabletop cd player [DNS 1000] has an effect called "echo-loop" in it, does anyone know of any "software" that has this particular effect please? I wrote to the authors of Elotronix, let's see what they say when and if they reply. In the meantime, exactly which Pioneer DJ equipment has the Echo loop feature please?

Hello,
With Elottonix XL you get the infinite loop, but you can't speed it up or slow it down, and we have no plans about implementing that feature in a near future, sorry.the effect is simply an infinite repeat BUT you can speed it up, slow it down and adjust various parameters,

Hmmmm...it's not s/w but it might be useful to you if you do any DJing. Lexicon released a little delay unit several years back that did exactly this kind of thing - Can't quite remember what it was called...wasn't it JamMan or something like it (released just after the Alex and Reflex - that era). A very capable delay and sample looping thingy that did some of the morphing FX as well. You don't tend to see many going 2nd hand, but they were cheap as chips at the time - much overlooked unfortunately. And of course it sounded typically Lexicon - lush.
S/w - isn't there a delay called Buffer Delay or something like that? That might be able to do the speedy-up/slowy-down thing?
Several other delays will allow you to apply an LFO to delay speed, such as e-phonic's RetroDelay and Ohmboyz...although it might not be quite what you're after. Ohmboyz has ramps as well as sine wave LFOs, but it will glitch a bit if you manually alter delay time while it's repeating - but it also has an easy sustain button to switch to instant 100% feedback (with a nice resonance available too).

Can you get the infinite loop "on the fly"? Meaning, while playing a song in my DJ program can I infinitely loop ANY word without having to record that word first? Say I am playing the song "I got the power" and I wish to infinitey loop any of those words at any time so I can have it go "I got the power, power, power ,power e.t.c, is this possible?Jorge Ruiz wrote:Hello,

Yes, I had bought this unit when it came out and I was dealing with Hardware, there is no other like that Jamman and is considered a classic today and vbery hard to come by but I only want to deal with "software" now which is why I am heading in this direction.kritikon wrote:. This one. The REFX500. James Zabiela uses it a lot. He gets the tempo with the tap function and loops the signal by using the echo and sets the feedback to the maximum.

you could try Arc Dev's plugs. That guy has some really good delay units.
