Parallel Minds Studio has updated Reverie, the standalone ambient soundscape generator for macOS and Windows, to v1.13,
The application turns any audio file, whether a song, a vocal take, a field recording or a short sample, into long-form ambient music in one click. Version 1.13 rebuilds the entire engine as native code.
The headline addition is the Pro Chain Builder. It lets users assemble their own effect chain from Reverie's 37 DSP modules, reorder and bypass modules, tune every parameter, and save custom chains as presets. It turns Reverie from a preset-driven generator into an open processing environment for users who want to build their own sound from the ground up.
The native rewrite also runs up to 5x faster than the previous 1.0 build, depending on the style.
Also new in 1.13:
- 5 new factory presets (Deteriorating Memories, Harmonic Healing, Forest Breathing, DNA Splice, Ancient Chant), bringing the total to 20.
- 4 export formats (WAV, FLAC, OGG, AIFF) at 16 or 24-bit.
Reverie's processing is built around Dreamtime, the studio's extended evolution of Paul Nasca's Paulstretch algorithm, alongside spectral freeze, spectral cross-synthesis, shimmer reverb, ... A seed system produces byte-identical renders for reproducible results.
The free version (5 Lite presets, 3-minute renders, no account required) remains available, so the new engine can be tried on your own source material before buying. Existing Reverie 1.0 Pro licenses migrate to 1.13 automatically at no cost. Pro is a one-time purchase, currently 19€ as a launch price (regularly 29€), with no subscription.
Reverie 1.13 requires macOS 13 or later (Apple Silicon and Intel) or Windows 10/11 (64-bit) and runs fully offline, with no telemetry.
