IK Multimedia has released the iRig Pro Duo, a mobile and full-featured universal dual channel audio and MIDI interface that is designed to allow a user to capture their musical ideas on the go or in the studio with plug-and-play simplicity, MIDI connectivity and high-quality 24-bit sound.
IK say that it's the smallest full-featured dual channel recording interface available, making it suited for use on the move. It can be powered by 2 AA batteries (included), from a USB host or via an optional wall power adapter. And measuring just 130 x 75 x 38 mm, it fits easily into a gig bag, laptop bag, pocket or the palm of a hand.
iRig Pro Duo has professional-grade audio components including two identical XLR/TRS audio input jacks that can be used to plug in guitars, basses, keyboards, line-level instruments and microphones to capture high quality 24-bit audio. iRig Pro Duo can even accommodate high-end phantom powered condenser microphones — 48V of phantom power is available with the flip of a switch. And MIDI musicians can plug in their favorite MIDI controllers with its included TRS to MIDI-DIN cables.
iRig Pro Duo includes high-end AD-DA converters and ultra-low noise and high-headroom preamps. Audio from each channel runs through a 24-bit AD-DA converter.
iRig Pro Duo's two 1/4" TRS balanced outputs can drive any kind of input. They are designed to deliver a clear audio signal thanks to its output drivers. The totally floating design of iRig Pro Duo's balanced outputs eliminates ground loop issues and buzz when performing on stage with iOS devices or laptops.
