In the wake of the pioneering acts that took the melodic expression and harmonic language of classic folk music and applied it in a rock band setting, waves of new artists came out in the 1960s and on. Since then, the lines between folk, singer-songwriter, indie and Americana have kept blurring, but still – with its basic, to-the-point hooks and unmistakable harmonies – that ever-so distinct folk feel is still as apparent as it ever was.
In this EZkeys MIDI pack, we've dug deep through the archives to come up with inspiration for a collection of material that doesn't only cover the singer-songwriter- and Americana-related but also the Irish and the Celtic. Expect basic chord structures, big piano-driven hooks and backbeat-reliant rhythms – all fusing the melodic traits of folk with the power of rock.
