Hi, I'm Ivo – a Berlin-based music producer and solo developer.

After years of drowning in disorganized MIDI files across folders and drives, not good searchable and previewable, I decided to build the tool I always wanted.

A couple of months of development later, MidiBro was born.
This is my first commercial software product. No corporation, no shareholders – just a producer who codes and understands the workflow struggles of making music with large MIDI collections.

I'm committed to building tools that solve real problems, providing direct support, and listening to the community.

Your feedback shapes future updates.

Let's build better music software together.

I've been looking for a decent MIDI file organiser for quite some time and I think I've tried almost all that I could get my hands on. I've never really been satisfied with any of them or what they could offer, particularly in my case where I have many and would have to spend far too much time manually categorising them.

Last week I came across MidiBro and downloaded the demo to try it out. My prayers had been answered as MidiBro did exactly what I needed, it actually scans your files and automatically adds things like the key which is incredibly useful and time-saving. The app is well designed and does a great job at helping to organise MIDI file collections.

It's also worth pointing out that when trialling the software, I had some feedback and queries for the developer and I was really surprised at how responsive and quick they were to come back to me. In fact, on one point about key recognition, they implemented a change pretty much the same day. I was absolutely blown away and bought the software immediately as it is very modestly priced.

Absolutely recommended (although I have no comment on the MIDI generation abilities as it's not something I'd particularly use).

Hi FineAlly,

Thank you for this wonderful review – it really means a lot! I'm so glad MidiBro finally scratched that itch after trying so many other tools.

And thanks again for your feedback on key recognition during the trial – input like that helps make the software better for everyone. Always happy to implement good suggestions quickly when I can.

Really appreciate the support and recommendation.

Keep on raving, Ivo

This could be "The one MIDI browser to rule them all" app and I can agree with other peoples feedback. Nice layout, view/sort/filter options, MIDI out, AI variations, categories, tags, favorites. My feature requests would be MIDI slicing with selectable start/end points and more MIDI effects in the variations panel (arp, echo, repeater, velocity de/compression etc...) with optional dry/wet/% settings. An option to "lock" a (generated) variation, and generate variations of variations (ad infinitum) before saving them would be interesting. Compliments to the developer. The big DAW boys should be watching this :).

Hi Housemus,

Wow, "the one MIDI browser to rule them all" – love that! Thanks for the kind words and the detailed feature suggestions.

MIDI slicing and more variation effects are interesting ideas – I'll add them to the roadmap for consideration. The "lock & iterate" concept for generating variations of variations is creative thinking.

Really appreciate the support. Let's see if the big DAW boys are paying attention.

Cheers, Ivo

Very nice MIDI browser. You can view the MIDI file, sort/filter by BPM and key. And can make variations of the original file with AI. With MIDI out you can use your own VST's in your DAW. Feature requests would be sync by scale (or transpose to a user key) and (multi)editing the properties/tags in the browser for large MIDI collections. 4 stars at the moment (some bugs). Could be 5 stars in the future when it matures. This app has a lot of potential.

Hi TanteJuut,

Thanks for the great feedback and for taking the time to share your thoughts.

Good news: A Collection Editor is coming soon in version 1.1 (pssst, let me share a secret -> together with some two other interesting features).

And transpose to key is now on the roadmap – great suggestion.

Regarding the bugs you mentioned – please reach out via www.midibro.de and let me know what issues you're experiencing. I'd love to fix them so we can get you to those 5 stars.

Thanks again!
Ivo.

This is a fantastic, very useful and well thought out app.

The Collections tab is really useful and intuitive.

Well worth a look, if you have a massive collection of MIDI files.

The developer is very friendly and welcomes suggestions, which is always inspiring and quite rare to see.

Hi Jason,

Thanks so much for the kind words – really appreciate it! Glad the Collections feature fits your workflow. And yes, suggestions are always welcome – they help shape where MidiBro goes next.

Ivo
