KVR Studio Manager updated to v0.2.0.0 (beta)

KVR Studio Manager updated to v0.2.0.0 (beta)

It's been a long wait, but a new Public Beta release of the free KVR Studio Manager is now finally available. The main change is a significantly reworked VST3 scanner but version 0.2.0.0 also features several behind the scenes changes that should improve KSM's reliability and accuracy for all formats.

In case you aren't aware, KVR Studio Manager is a free / donationware software application for macOS and Windows that serves as a bridge between a KVR member's computer and their installed plugins and the KVR Audio website, automatically interfacing with a member's personalized MyKVR page and the KVR Product Database.

Changes in v0.2.0.0 (Public Beta):

  • Rearchitected VST3 scanner:
    • Parallel scanning.
    • 10 second process timeout by default. Timeout can be changed in Options > Settings
    • Automatic retry for failed plugins (will retry once).
    • Should now find some plugins it didn't find before.
    • Fixed: Plugins that hang or crash KSM now scan correctly or fail gracefully.
    • Fixed: Updated plugins not detected on scan.
    • Fixed: Folders and Plug-ins with same name misidentified as duplicates.
  • Fixed: Saved password not updated if password changed (Mac)
  • Miscellaneous internal changes.

KVR Studio Manager is currently in Public Beta, initially supporting VST3, Audio Units and CLAP plugins on Windows and macOS computers, so you may experience a few bugs. We'd appreciate you letting us know by joining the discussion in the KVR Studio Manager forum where we will endeavour to address any questions and issues.

Head over the dedicated KVR Studio Manager page where you can learn more, watch introduction videos and download the public beta.
