Alchemy is locked into Logic now.
Even the free Alchemy CM has now been withdrawn.
Here's a list of free sfz sounds. http://ariaengine.com/free-sfz-sounds/
Haven't checked it, just did a google and saw it at the top.
Here's more
https://bedroomproducersblog.com/2014/0 ... piano-sfz/
https://bedroomproducersblog.com/2015/1 ... phone-sfz/
Here's a decent looking bunch
https://www.plogue.com/instrument-banks-sforzando/
If anyone else has free sfz links - or great quality paid ones - they can add to this list, please go right ahead.
I'm personally very chuffed about this v126 update as I prefer sticking with Avenger and Kontakt for most everything these days, and sfz expands Avenger's scope a lot.
This will be the first year in ages that I haven't bought a new synth for Christmas, as Avenger is so cool I don't feel I need to look further. Probably the biggest compliment I can pay

I just did a test and seems our Avenger sounds even as good as a moog
Any ideas how to even warm the sound more? I know moog has an overdrive that makes it all even fatter.

As for the SFZ I've found a pack of all sfz files somewhere, but need to check where again.
Anyway, there's still a problem with the sfz, some files crashes my Avenger.
I also converted with Sforzando a huge list of sf2 to sfz, but most crash also.
So it's still limited. As said, in beta.
But still a very nice upgrade, I've been asking for this before and I love it

I have several tipps I use in Avenger when I recreate analog sounds
- use random pitch (inner Ring / finetune to the left for 5-15%)
- if you want it dirty, use a bit of filter drive AND a bit of master filter drive (distorts globally). Just set the dial to 9 o clock is enough
- with EQ boost the lower mids a bit (around 300-500hz, the low end at 60hz and the brilliance at 12k)
- sometimes I use a bit of "unstableness". Choose FM, Waveform "random smooth", Rate to Max (in free mode) then just rise the amount a few pixels
- use the NEX filter types (12 or 24db)
- use the Vintage Chorus on Pads etc, rather than the V-Saw
- leave the inner rings on the amp envelope to neutral / middle setting
- I sometimes at a bit of unstableness to modulating LFOs also. Just add a second random lfo on the first lfo's rate, but just a bit

Seems that the v saw does work well now regarding CPU? Did you guys optimise it?

…No chance yet to try out the new features, but they look great—and sound it, too, thanks for the video!
As for the .sfz's I'll be trying first, they'll be from the several delicious Alchemy collections I've gotten from Simon S. at patchpool:
Well, this isn't going well, sorry to say. Converting sfz's from these folders results mostly in nothing, empty files. A few produce unpleasant noise, and at least half crash Logic in the process. They're there on reboot, but just as useless. 2 out of 20 tries or so, so far, are playable, but appear to be single samples, not multis, hard to say…
Converting from these folders with Rapture was sometimes not successful, either, it must be said, but definitely better than this. Best results I've had with what prove to be multi-samples once loaded, have been with Falcon.
Disappointing!

Hehe I guess so, nice job Manuel, you're sound king ! Your work is really impressive.kevvvvv wrote:btw did I see a Cinematic 1 and Cinematic 2 in your expansion browser?
Are these under development?
Regarding the video, it would be interesting to make some more videos with basic soundscaping tips.
As I didn't know that wave form was so important on the Avenger screen, as you can see where it end and creates the overtones.

Good news. VPS Avenger 1.2.6 is tested on OSX High Sierra and does officially support it.
