Hmmm, it should be the KVR silo license number. I'll buy it myself here on KVR to see what is displayed.

Hi,
One more quick question:
Is there a way to change the colors of the buttons on the top? (ie the "settings" button)
They are very dark until you hover over them - and even then they are a little dark.
Is there any chance of tooltips for these buttons?
sorry for the questions - I'll have to dive into the manual - but it's 154 pages

No, sorry, you can't (yet) change the color of buttons.
However, many have asked for those buttons to have higher contrast so it's on my list, will try to do for next release.
EDIT: OK, I just bought it myself here on KVR.
The license number is displayed on the very first market place page immediately after you buy the product here on KVR.
On the left side near the middle, right under "Seaweed Audio Fathom Synth" in blue letters, it says "License" with the license silo serial number. If you enter that number in the software upgrade download zip files it will unzip the file.
It's also displayed in the email KVR sends you right after the purchase.

Hi FathomSynth - I didn't buy it here on KVR, I went to your website
anyway - I got the ser num form you so it's all good.
Lots to get through in the manual though...
Thanks for thinking about the buttons - at least it's not just me

Yeah, we're out here, pounding our fists on the desk,
"Brighter buttons, brighter, brighter, brighter!"
(well, pounding as loud as old guys
with dimming eyesight can )
But that will be an important improvement
that will guarantee another purchase
...oh, it's 'smily sunday', in case anyone is wondering...

Cool. How about a slightly brighter blue Fathom logo to improve the contrast?

2.22 will be out in a few days, probably Friday.
There have been no bug reports in the last two releases.
If anyone needs something fixed for 2.22 please post here as soon as you can,
so I can get any fixes all together into this release.

Like the brighter more user friendly controls,
the logo is good art, but could be appreciated
more often if also a bit more obvious. Icing on
the cake...
Cheers

Fathom Development Update, Next Features for November 2018.
Modulated spectrum editor for all oscillators.
New analog emulation algorithm for all oscillators.
All oscillators will have a full spectrum partials editor (similar to the additive spectrum oscillator) except that it will go up to 500 partials. The editor will have a window mode, such that a window can be defined across a range of partials and the partials within this frequency range can be modulated by any modulator. This will give Fathom the ability to create "ethereal' sounds found only rarely in extremely high end synths such as Omnisphere.
We are also working on a completely new analog algorithm which will soon be installed on all oscillators. This new algorithm does not (to our knowledge) exist in any other synth on the market. It is not based on simple waveform deformation, filtering, spectral manipulation or spice circuit processing like most emulators. The algorithm uses complex non-linear phase modulation to mimic the "air pressure" sound you get from a hardware Moog.

is there a difference between the Ambient bank and the Ambition bank? all the preset names are the same. also, in other banks, i now have duplicate presets for almost every one, is that normal?

Hi. The "Ambition" bank was renamed to "Ambient" a while back, same exact bank.
That is the professional Solidtrax factory bank with ambient and EDM style presets, same guys who did the Solidtrax Bass bank recently. They also did some banks for VPS Avenger.
Not sure how you ended up with duplicate presets in the other banks. I'm constantly making changes to and improving the existing presets in the "Retro" bank (which is my bank) so it's safe to assume that the latest version of everything in that bank is what you want.
The exception would be if you use one of the presets in one of your songs specifically and you don't want it to change even a little. But in that case the preset would be saved as part of your project anyway and improvements to the Fathom preset would not impact that.
All the other banks have stayed exactly the same for the last couple months.
There is also a new Trance bank in the works.

I'm away from my computer at the moment. I can't remember if it's possible audition different modules without having delete and add. Would be nice to audition different osc and filters in situ.
