Loving this synth! :hyper:

Speaking of Soundcloud, Fathom now has a Soundcloud page.

To add to it, this is the KVR One Synth Challenge #109: Fathom playlist. All the tracks were made totally using Fathom and will showcase the immense power of Fathom. Enjoy! (Note: The tracks is not in the order of the rankings. More info here https://www.fathomsynth.com/artists/). :tu:

LOL I do this with nearly every synth, like for example Tyrell n6 I never knew had drag and drop modulation until this random YT video I watched last week.

But this CM video did an amazing job of making Fathom look fun and easy to program with the drag and drop routing and instant visual feedback. Fathom really has a feel of the future.

Oh my ...Thanks SoundPorn. I have literally been adding modulators the hard way this whole time, step by step from start to finish. I watched the video, and saw him drag the modulator onto the parameter, and BOOM! ...WoW! *slaps forehead* I seem to over complicate everything, and overlook the simplest things ...Story of my life. That little tip just made my day! Thank's! :D

Some issues in Cubase 10 (Mac) report sent to support email.

Post

OK, Looks like the Mac Xeon build fixed it. Thanks for reporting.
The Mac Xeon processor build is included in the Alternate Builds download.

Post

Is that Mac Xeon build the recommended version for a 2013 Mac Pro?

Post

If it has a Xeon processor, Yes.

If not then it should use the normal Mac build for Intel such as i7.

I think the 2013 Mac Pro has a Xeon but I'm not sure since I don't own one.

Post

Intel Xeon E5... lots of cores...

Whats the difference between fathom cm and fathom pro ? And are they upgradable cheers

Post

Differences between Fathom Mono and Fathom Pro are listed in the "Why Go Pro" page here:
https://www.fathomsynth.com/monopro

Fathom Pro and all upgrades are self contained so they do not install "on top" of Fathom Mono,
so technically speaking the word "upgradable" does not apply. You just download Pro and use it.

FathomMono.dll and Fathom.dll (the pro version) have different names so if you are upgrading to Pro
and using an existing DAW host project you may need to save all your Fathom tracks as presets
and reload them into each track when you use Pro.

Giving FathomMono a different name is a decision I made years ago and I have always doubted if it was a good idea for this reason. But it could also be equally confusing if the names were the same so I just stuck with it.

He asked about the difference between Fathom CM vs Pro. Even I want to know the same.

Post

Probably more interesting would be CM vs. Mono.
I mean, does anyone actually buy CM for the magazine? :hihi:

Post

Fathom CM and Fathom Pro are the same except Pro has the following features which CM does not:

Variable Filter category of 7 filters including the Newtonian Zero Delay.
Save and Load user waves in WAV format for export to other synths.
Fractal Reverb.

Fathom Mono is not polyphonic and CM is.
Fathom Mono does not have either the Variable or Analog Filter categories.

Mono vs Pro features are here.
https://www.fathomsynth.com/monopro

I can't imagine why anyone would not want to subscribe to CM since it has at least 80 free plugins which include most of the best synths in the world such as Thorn, Dune, Synthmaster, u-he Zebra.

Also keep in mind there are several thousand soft synths, and knowing which ones to try is basically impossible without relying on a good review magazine like CM or BPB. CM does all this work for you by showcasing only the ones worth trying.

I can vouch for the fact that they put a lot of effort into this and make the decision based on how good a synth is not just if there is buzz or pretty graphics. Fathom was actually a good example. CM had their eyes on Fathom for a good 18 months before they went ahead with the article and they introduced Fathom to their readers only when they decided that the features and quality passed the bar.

I personally have experienced the agony of spending $500 on a soft synth I ended up not being able to use it because of sound quality issues, and if I had been subscribing to CM at the time I would have avoided this. So imho subscribing to CM is basically a no-brainer.

i've been using Fathom in more and more of my new projects. as someone that likes to use presets as starting points for my own little personal tweeks, i think the preset librarian would be better if it were more like NI's Kore 2, where if i wanted to look at all my bass presets, i would push the bass category & i would be shown all bass presets from all the different banks at once, instead of having to enter each bank separately to check out the bass presets in each bank.
