Yes, more tutorials please. Bought this synth, its really cool but one thing that prevents me from using it more regularly is the lack of in depth tutorials of the mind flow in creating sounds from scratch. I rather pick some other synth I already know but I know Im missing on some great features of Cypher2. For example the Sequencer page.

This is nicely put..."mind flow"....I think this is the essence...seeing the decision making rather than a 'dry' do this and that. Although, here is the rub, often a real sound design session goes through many experimental steps, that is "I'll try this now..ok, this did not work, I'll try that now..." and this could potentially be annoying in a tutorial video, maybe.
For example, Cypher2 has 8 flavours of the comb filter. So, when making a patch, I may experiment with several of these modes at various gain and resonance settings, just hearing which is the one that works best in the current patch. However, in a tutorial video, I may just show one mode and how I use it, but if I don't show how I previously tried all of them to find the right timbre, the user may not understand why this particular comb filter was chosen.
Anyway, I leave you with this hybrid sound. Pushing Cypher2 into a more 'Physical Modelling' direction. It's just one sound, but you will hear a pluck, reed-bow, 'hammer' repeats all in one sound, no key switches, or anything but the sound and the RISE, and as you listen to this remember that this is a 3 oscillator VA synth only...

Well, most good tutorial people rehearse their videos and then try to condense them. Instead of watching you trying 10 different filters and their settings for half an hour, maybe that could be you - after having been through that process - condensing down the significant parts of your decision with some examples of what did not work and why, but not all of it.
I understand your reluctance, but in the end, just start and see how it goes
That last sound I'd be extremely interested in seeing how you created it. That is totally up my alley
Cheers,
Tom

It's absolutely amazing that some of these sounds are so "acoustic"! Himalaya, props to you, man.
I thought there has to be a sample in there somewhere. Nope. And those sitar-like patches... breathtaking absolutely stunning.
Shame Cypher doesn't come with ROLI Rise. ROLI should bundle that as well

The better the synth the less likely it will be bundled, but you get it cheaper anyway... I certainly couldn‘t resist...
There is one in the charity to bid on btw...

...and thank you for the positive comments. Really appreciated.
Hopefully these demos show the depth of Cypher2 that may not be immediately apparent.
I should imagine that adding a sampled sound on top of the Cypher2 'hybrid' sounds would add even more depth. It's something I used to love doing with the Physical Modelling sounds from AAS String Studio VS-1 and sampled sounds.

Yup. No samples here. and no other layers or effects. Each demo is one preset only with Cypher's internal effects (Check out the PhaseModArray effect! It's unique and bonkers!)EvilDragon wrote: ↑Tue Oct 30, 2018 10:52 pm I thought there has to be a sample in there somewhere. Nope.
I'm glad you have noticed those demos too. A lot of these sounds can slot in into downtempo/world tracks, or soundtracks very easily, adding very original colours.EvilDragon wrote: ↑Tue Oct 30, 2018 10:52 pm And those sitar-like patches... breathtaking absolutely stunning.

Himalaya: And what about you only recording for half an hour, even hour, doing patches in Cypher2. With all the experimentation, without talking, without text. Maybe just some intro text of what you would like to achieve. I like theese types of "tutorials" becuase I can find what I want in the video. I watch them, fast forward them to a point where the sound changed to something else then I scroll back a little to find part of the video where the change happened. Its like sitting with the sound designer and just watching him do his stuff. I think this kind of tutorials wont take you any more work then making the patch itself
