"how do i get ray manzareks sound?"

"use an organ"

no one is going in to detail about building it in an additive synth :P

One could say on a pure technicality, the Vox Continental organ Ray Manzarek used on the first Doors album employed a rudimentary form of additive synthesis. The Hammond B3 he later acquired did as well. However, no one has been talking about this so far.
Don't remember him playing a B3, but after the Vox I think he moved on to a Gibson G101
Yes. First, it was a Vox Continental, than later a Gibson G101. He also used toured with a chopped down Hammond B3, but that was apparently after Morrison passed away.
Maybe, but I was thinking of studio recordings, as I don't really ever remember hearing anything other than transistor organs and a Fender Rhodes.

has anyone mentioned jim getting his "little lad" out a lot?
Cmon, he had to have been a little bit envious of how well Ray handled his organ on stage.

Except, the Vox Continental actually is an additive synth. It's just, hardly anyone ever calls it an additive synth.

Poor little Vox Continental, it rarely gets the additive street cred it so rightfully deserves. :(

The creation of a super-band by the looks of things.

Though we're missing Grigori Rasputin on vocals. :hyper:

I think it might be a koan. Not sure. Either I'm on the cusp of enlightenment, or the hot sauce from lunch is phasing me.

Hot sauce has definite side effects. One check is to ask yourself if enlightenment smells as good as the hot sauce tasted? If the answer is no, it's probably just hot sauce. Note, this is not 100%.

First there is the hot sauce, then there is no hot sauce, then there is.
