Does Falcon offer something like NI´s NCW compressed format? According to NI, NCW reduces the sample data pool by around 55% and lossless which is really great.
If yes, how can this be achieved with Falcon? Are there additional costs involved for sound designers?

Falcon supports the FLAC format that AFAIK performs equals or better to NCW in terms of compression ratio.
It's lossless as well and non proprietary.

Filesize reduction really depends on the type of content being compressed (for example decaying sounds will compress a lot better than continuously sustaining sounds). NCW and FLAC are roughly performing very much the same as far as compression ratio. I'd reckon it's because the same or very similar compression method was used for both.

I remember when some of the libraries I have were redone with the compression how much smaller they were.

Not really. Both probably rely on LPC encoding but the final results could be very different.EvilDragon wrote: ↑Tue Feb 04, 2020 12:04 pm NCW and FLAC are roughly performing very much the same as far as compression ratio. Please check this example with a piano sound
