How to synthesise a drake/mallard duck call? Will settle for a crow or raven.

How to make that sound...

I’ve been looking for samples but two issues:
1) there are literally thousands to go through so it may be quicker to synthesise it
2) it doesn’t really seem overly complex
3) i’d actually prefer a more artificial sound

Any tips?

Don't Xoxos Nature VSTs include one dedicated to bird vocal apparatus emulation?

im not even sure where to start?
the filtering/envelopes seem obvious

but the sound source is evading me???
i suppose some sort of layered saw.
fast attack on amp slower on filter.
dec, sus and rel all pretty short.

would be better if i wasnt aching and could go and try :hihi:

leave this open, could get more better ideas, even if you decide on samples, could be an interesting topic :tu:

im sat here in my living room "caw" ing quite loudly, along to some tangerine dream, trying to visualise it

my neighbours hear some weird shit :o

I've narrowed down the exact sound I'm looking for. It's a drake or mallard type duck call, so not really a raven at all. Although they do share similar tonal characteristics.

I would say a kazoo or comb/paper would do it

Yeah that's the obvious solution but I don't own a mic. If I required this sound more than once that's the path I'd take.
