limited the volume output range of a plugin

Here's the situation. I have saved volume levels for plugins in each session. Typically, the saved volume level is OK but if I need to boost it quickly using the rotary controller on my Novation Impulse, the gain level shoots back to zero when I turn the knob, and then I have to dial all the way through the range to get to 127. Is there a way to use a Midi filter in Cantabile (i.e., not setting the gain range within the plug-in itself) to restrict the volume range to for example 90-127 rather than 0-127?

I'm doing this in a pre-release of Cantabile 3, but I'm guessing the available midi filters are the same as for Cant 2.
