In all of the plug-ins we can choose between several different channel modes (Left+Right, Left, Right, Mid, Side etc). And we already have separate multi-channel processing implemented (for 'Surround mode').
How about being able to split the panoramic field into several sections and process each one of those separately? For example:

would let me apply different Limiter parameters to each of the 5 pan sections. (Two bands divided at 0 would give separate processing of Left and Right).
I presume that the spatial split / merge can be done (after all the Stereo Graph in StereoScope can detect the position accurately).
The same principle could be applied to the Equalizers, with, say, 3 or 4 EQ bands available for each pan section.
Does any of this make sense? Musically? Creatively? Technically?
