Is it possible in MDrummer to achieve the effect of having a cymbal crash sound muffled to silence by holding the cymbal with a hand (or something similar) ?
Cheers.

Well I suppose you can effect a sample somehow, but you cannot really do that "while the cymbal is already playing". You could send the cymbal to a separate output and process it there though. But to be honest, being a drummer, I don't think it will be convincing without sampling the real deal. We have some "choke" multisamples there, but I think for splashes only.

No new development on this or any plan on implementing it by any chance?

Update, got this answer by mail with customer service :
So if I get it well, problem will be solved in the future, which is great news!Hi,
cymbal choking is currently possible to program using some "unused" drum types, but that's rather clumsy. Due to large number of request for this feature it will be implemented in the next update using designated "Ride cymbal choke 1/2", "Crash cymbal choke 1/2" and "Splash cymbal choke 1/2" drum types, which you will simply attach using MIDI input filter.
