Yeah ,I absolutely love Lush to bits but it's just so taxing on my rig. I do need to upgrade my pc at some point and I know I don't need to use all 8 layers and and fx but it sounds soooo gorgeous when I do.I just freeze/render ,rinse and repeat . Ah,and Alchemy 1.5. It's like a pig on stilts to load up but it still works great.wagtunes wrote: ↑Mon Jul 01, 2019 2:43 pmYou know, I have Lush 101 but don't really use it much. I probably should. Sadly, I will never own Alchemy. One of my regrets not buying it when I still could.jethrobull wrote: ↑Mon Jul 01, 2019 3:01 pmYeah ,I absolutely love Lush to bits but it's just so taxing on my rig. To me it was resolution in the face of adversity. Which isn't a million miles away.fastlanephil wrote: ↑Mon Jun 24, 2019 11:41 pm Interesting dark ambience. It seems to mainly suggest loneliness but also a strength.
On the subject of story line: I also felt the story might be lacking, but also felt that the piece was more about conveying a state of mind or emotion than about telling a story with a beginning, middle and end.
I'm almost expecting the next piece to actually start telling the story, while this one is simply setting the mood.
Voted KVR's resident drunk Robert Smith impersonator (thanks Frantz!)

Great sound and texture. Only thing for me is the tension is never released. Like one final chord at the end that releases all that built up tension.

Thank you for listening and the feedback. Gonna check out that fizzthecontrolcentre wrote: ↑Sun Jun 30, 2019 9:59 pm Nice work. Very cinematic. I would have liked the bassline to arrive earlier, and a little less "fizz" on the intro (maybe it's the reverb?), but overall it's well a balanced mix and sounds really good.

Thank you very much for listening. I appreciate your thoughts.experimental.crow wrote: ↑Sun Jun 30, 2019 10:31 pm quite enjoyed that ...
particularly taken w/ the upper register motif juxtaposed against the staid progression ,
introduced when you bring in the bass ... i'd raise the level of that a bit ...
i concur w/ thecontrolcentre :
'twas a tad 'fizzy' at the intro ...
good work ...

It's a great piece of scene-setting. It reminds me of some of the more "ambient" Peter Gabriel pieces from his late '80s Passion album. Really diggin' the atmosphere on here.
Good work

Thank you very much sjm for listening. I really like your take on it and it is spot on actually. Nearly everything I make is never really a story but a state of mind and this is just part of that mind journey.sjm wrote: ↑Mon Jul 01, 2019 4:03 pmTo me it was resolution in the face of adversity. Soundtrack atmosphere .. I imagine this would fit the end of the movie. The action is over and everything is calm. Sounds good

Only just got around to listening to this. Really like it! I do have to agree with mindstuff, though; except rather than one chord to resolve at the end (A Day In The Life!), this felt like the perfect introduction to a track that never was.
Not saying it is incomplete, but it evoked so many possibilities for ‘The Drop’.
Anyway! Don’t mind me
