Well, I wouldn't even know where to begin to score to a movie. Technically, I don't even know how to do this. So kudos for even trying. Score is pretty minimal but I think it works.
Good luck with the competition.

thanks a lot for the kind words.
yes, i was going for something minimal - i felt like strings and brass wouldn't really work for this very sci fi third season of westworld.
cheers!

Like the throbbing bass at the start. Fits really well.
Drums come in at a good moment. But at 1:26 they drop out suddenly. I am left thinking "is the chase over, are they out of danger?" Percussion just vanishes. Why not keep the percussion going, but introduce a higher freq percussion with the same rhythm like a shaker or something? Just to keep some idea going that things are still in motion.
2:39 the missile doubles back. YOu chose to drop out all the instrumentation. There's less excitement or anticipation, and its a potentially decisive moment in the chase.
Your colour palette includes a throbbing bass and drums. Thats about it. I think you need something else in there, like Cinematic elements such as KeepForrest offer.
I know about Spitfire competitions, they attract seasoned pros who are white-hot at this kind of thing.
If you're entering the competition to hone your skills and produce something interesting, then you've succeeded. If you're thinking of winning anything, then as it stands, it won't.
I'm not saying this to be mean. I like a lot about it, just want to be honest.

hey, thanks for giving it a listen and for the extensive feedback.
there were some other people who commented on the lack of melodic instruments, but it's just how i saw the scene - just with percussion and no strings or brass. the same with the breaks. if you listen to the song on it's own, yes the breaks are not great, but i feel they complement the scene. at 1:26 the chase didn't stop, but they were talking and i felt that the action took a break, i guess when the missile doubles back, i liked the idea of leaving just the sound of the projectile until it hits.
i guess it's just how each of us see it. but what i've noticed in the other submissions is that most people made music that was louder than the action or just showcased their talents, but didn't underscore the picture. i really went for something that works as an action music background.
i know there are a lot of people in the competition. i'm not doing it to win, but i really liked the tv show and it's great to have this opportunity of scoring a scene and not break any copyright laws
thanks again for checking it out
cheers!
