i bought Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 2nd Gen as i had 3 Roland hardware synths but i only have 1 left for sale as i sadly never like to work with hardware but i wanted to try it out and wanted to have the hardware sounds.
i got my old 2i2 and wonder if the Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 2nd Gen has any advantages soundwise over 2i2? if not i could also sell my Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 2nd Gen and get back to my little hand 2i2
Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 any advantages over 2i2?

If you don't need the high I/O count then I would sell it anyway ASAP. Concerning differences 1st vs 2nd generation Scarlett: > Here < is an interesting article.

in the past there was always discussion/mystery/stupidity? about audio interfaces/sound cards sound better in DAWs with plugins which i guess is pretty stupid as the sound cards dont count but the setting in the DAW + plugins themselves?
