TBH, in regards of performance and real-time audio, Android probably isn't the best OS from the ground up.

I dont need a super phone -my Nokia has been very good for basic phone/media. My son shifted from iPhone to higher end Nokia and says it is much the same - he is a more demanding user, but not using his phone for media production.

Best Android phone I've had was the HTC mytouch4g (T-Mobile) ... It was rock solid . I think it was out around the iPhone3or4 days .... The last good iPhone they made was the 6 6s and 6s+ ... They've gone to crap too . I think they build the crap to last no more than two years . I may look at the Nokia's next time .

My Samsung Galaxy Note lasted around 2 years ... my current Nokia Lumia is 6 years old.

cue the derisive laughter :) but I really liked my Nokia windows phone - I was pretty sad when windows dumped their phoneOS

I heard the Nokia Windows phone was badasses , Microsoft should make a launcher or an Android theme using the gui.. I used to have the R2D2 Xbox360 and thought the Xbox OS in it was pretty cool it was almost like Windows 8 but you use the controller instead of mouse or touchscreen . I think the lack of apps is what killed of Windows phone . I think that Nokia Windows phone had the best camera at the time of release .

i still use mine ... the lumia camera is great. Shame about the OS being abandoned.

I haven't tried it, but Audio Evolution Mobile always looked interesting as an Android DAW:

https://www.extreamsd.com/index.php/pro ... or-android

"Besides recording your ideas with the built-in microphone or a headset, you can achieve high quality recordings with low latency using a USB audio interface connected to your Android device. By using a custom USB audio driver which completely bypasses the Android audio system, the limits of Android are no longer applicable: record up to 24-bit at any sample rate that your USB audio interface supports and even perform multi-channel recording!"

There is support for a lot of devices and interfaces, listed here:

https://www.extreamsd.com/index.php/tec ... dio-driver

I was especially interested to see the Yamaha THR5 confirmed as supported, and that should mean the THR10 should be too.

I just noticed that the USB support for audio interfaces in Audio Evolution Mobile requires an in-app purchase of their special driver or purchase of another app called USB Audio Recorder PRO (which costs $5.49 in Google Play Store). There's some other in-app purchase stuff too, fx packs…
