1.Once I import a midi file how do I add it to the Database.
(Hopefully we can save imported progressions and phrases)
2.How do you transpose a phrase into a new scale?
(Example: When I change to a minor scale the notes don't move)

Any help would be much appreciated.

Hello,

thank you for your questions.

1. when you loaded a midi file, you can slice phrases by selecting "Divide" from the context popup (right click). When you created a phrase consisting a few measures, double click on it to open it in the phrase editor. (As an optional step you can review if the notes were assigned correctly, maybe listen to it with other chords.) Then you need to type a name at the bottom, and press "Add To Database".
2. phrases are transposed into new scales and chords automatically. The reason the notes did not move was that the chord did not change. Phrases depend on both chords and scales (e.g. a note can be specified to be "the highest chord note + 1 scale step"). The chords do not change if you change the scale. In version 2 this will be different. Out-of-scale chords are displayed with red colour. So try changing the chord, the phrases will change too.

Regards,
Attila
