Having lots of problems auditioning or adding rx2 loops to T7 64Bit. Many loops won't audition, also generating 'can't read this file' messages when you attempt to drag them to a track. And once the first file won't load, then all rx2 loops won't audition and refuse to load. After a short wait T7 will usually crash to the desktop. (With a "*** ERROR: REX (code 202): Invalid handle" message in the Tracktion log).

Eventually had to hide all rx2 files to stave off the crashes. My Apple Loop and wav loops are working fine.

So far so good, but I'll check it out later again.

Ok, I just did a whole bunch of rex2 stuff and had no issues.

Much appreciated incubus: thanks for checking with my specific setup! I assumed it was something unusual since I hadn't seen any other complaints. I'm wondering if a few corrupted rex files near the top of the list were screwing up the player for everything I clicked on afterword? I think I'll try slowly adding a few back in to see if that's the case...

Loading my library of rx2 files in folder by folder revealed that a batch of files exported long ago from DrumCore 3 were the culprits. The same files when converted to .aif work just fine. I'm a bit surprised that Tracktion doesn't detect and refuse to load the files rather than crashing to the desktop in the attempt... but I'm happy that the rest of my rx2 library seems to be working without issue. :)

glad you got it sorted :)

Sadly, after recognizing all my rx2 files fine last week, T7 has returned to its old behavior: out of the blue failing to read any rx2 files, and crashing to the desktop about half the time when I attempt to preview one. (Triggering the good old *** ERROR: REX (code 202): Invalid handle error in the log for files it previously loaded without issue). After restarting T7 three or four times it suddenly begins recognizing the files again.

I'm also frequently losing all my midi devices (fixed by refreshing the midi devices list). Along with a number of random crashes that aren't leaving any notes in the logs, I think I'll be giving T7 a rest until a few more updates have come down the pipe. It's not really possible to get extended work done at the moment.

I've had the midi device issue, but not the others. I have very few vsts loaded though. The only crashes I've had are linked to arsenal (TFP) which apparently is normal

I am not seeing any support requests coming through about this issue - please do send logs to our team otherwise we cannot track down your gremlins - thx

Cool, I'll start sending some logs.

I've always been a bit gun shy about submitting reports. Back in the glory days when T4 was first released, in a burst of enthusiasm I signed up for the bug tracking forum. My first report was for a plugin that reliably crashed Tracktion to the desktop when certain steps were followed. (Following the same steps in any of my other DAWs didn't trigger any issues). Soon after, the issue was closed, with a curt note that the problem was with the plugin, had nothing to do with Tracktion, with a vibe that it was silly for me to have brought it up in the first place. Predictably, that was the last bug report I issued. ;)

We must have fired that guy - no in fact he was probably beaten and then fired ;)

It seems (after 20 minutes or so of auditioning and dragging RX2 loops onto tracks) that the crashes have gone away in 7.1.1.

Very cool. :)

With some RX2s they work fine at first in several Edits but eventually upon opening the Edit some of the Clips/Loops in the arrangement go blank and instead of a waveform they just have "can't read this file". All of the Edits within the Project have the same problem. These RX2s are imported into the Project folder. When I click on "View Source Info" for the Audio Clip it has the file name and where it was imported from but in the Preview Pane it says "(File missing)". In the Waveform9Log.txt file it says "*** ERROR: REX (Code 202): Invalid handle" several times. This problem only affects about 10-20% of the REX files in the Project.

Can you make a function to tell Waveform to re-import missing files so I don't have to since it knows where they came from?

I checked with Cakewalk Sonar Platinum and the problem RX2s in the Project folder open and play fine.

Thanks for any help on this.

This morning when I open the Edit all but two of the RX2s are normal, but this time the clips don't show "can't read this file" but just have flatlines as a waveform. In the clip information panel everything is normal and I can preview the files just fine but they won't play in the arrangement unless I drag them into the arrangement from the Imported folder in the browser panel. This is some strange behavior.
